CARMICHAEL FARMS RED ANGUS
Thank you for visiting and welcome to our page. We are a rural family farm founded on faith, family, and freedom. We are located in Aurora, MO and we specialize in the production of premium Red Angus bulls. We are proud to bring you the top genetics in the industry through artificial insemination. Our founder is a retired veterinarian, who has over 30 years of experience serving the animal community. Kevin was born on a ranch in Montana and farmed nearly all of his life. He and his wife have three boys - Ryan, Nathan, and Austin who all live on the farm with their wives and children. The three boys work hard to develop and grow our farm.
This farm is more than land, cattle, and crops. It is our family’s heritage and future. Our values are deeply instilled in serving God’s kingdom and we are honored to do our part.
FAMILY BUSINESS
Only the Best
We are a multi-generational family farm bringing you some of the best Red Angus cattle in the area. All of our bulls will be sold guaranteed meaning they are semen checked and ready to get to work improving your own herd. It is our goal to produce bulls that are sound, well balanced, and more heat tolerant than black cattle. Our bulls are raised primarily on pasture rather than being pushed at the feed bunk. This results in a bull that is slower grown which increases overall bone density and strength. That means our bulls are built to withstand the hard work of breeding year after year.
We are also proud to offer our very own farm-raised beef for sale as availability occurs. We sell as a whole or half beef. Please reach out to us directly with any questions you may have. We welcome visits to the farm to see our available stock in person as well.
HIGHER STANDARD KUNEKUNE
Our very own Alysa Carmichael has recently begun the adventure of raising KuneKune pigs. We have had this unique breed of pigs on our farm since 2023 and they have truly been a joy. We have been producing top quality beef for many years, and I (Allie) have been dreaming of producing our own pork as well. Many of your standard meat pigs are known for being destructive to the land and are not always friendly.
I came across KuneKune almost by chance and quickly began doing my research. The KuneKune name comes from the Maori tribe in New Zealand and the translation means “fat and round”. They were nearly extinct in the 1960’s and they have such an interesting history. The breed was re-established carefully and is now thriving across the United States mostly as a homestead pig. They are incredibly docile, social, easy on the land, and delicious! These pigs are moderate in size, typically between 200-400 pounds. They graze the land without being destructive, and they absolutely love people.
Only the best quality pigs will go on to be breeders. The rest will join our own personal meat herd or be sold as barrows. Barrows make amazing companions for other pigs, or they can be raised and butchered at your own convenience.
When you buy a pig from our farm you are also purchasing a lifelong mentor. If I don’t know the answer I will help find someone who does. We are in this together and I proudly stand behind the animals produced on our farm.
